With the NBA Draft countdown clock running out, Anthony Edwards, the 19-year-old who played last season in Georgia, became the favorite to finish first overall on Wednesday night. According to prospects published on William Hill Sportsbook, Edwards is -240 to hear his name called first on Draft Night, first at the top of the list that includes the likes of LaMelo Ball and James Wiseman.

Ball Weizmann is not far behind in second and third places, respectively. The ball is +175 to take first place after it topped the list as the favorite just days earlier, while Weizmann’s odds are a bit longer at +700. His longer odds are in line with the public school of thought that the Timberwolves – who already have a caliber position of excellence in Karl-Anthony Towns – will likely not retreat twice into position to capture the 7-foot-1 center from Memphis.

Timberwolves President Gersson Rosas maintained throughout the entire drafting process that they would select the best talent regardless of their fitness. And there was talk of the rumor mill about it Minnesota may trade picking or descend. So if you were sold on Wiseman as the best talent in the category, this gamble +700 might interest you.

Here’s a look at the updated odds among the rest of the players on who will rank first overall with odds with William Hill Sportsbook.

Odds of reaching 1st place in the 2020 NBA Draft

  • Anthony Edwards: 5/12
  • Lamilo Ball: 7/4
  • James Wiseman: 7/1
  • Denie Avdega: 100-1
  • Obi Tobin: 100–1
  • Onyeka Okongwu: 100-1
  • Isaac Okoro: 150–1
  • Killian Hayes: 150-1
  • Therese Halliburton: 200–1
  • RJ Hampton: 200–1
  • Therese Maxi: 200–1
  • Cole Anthony: 200-1

Now just because the ball is favored in first place, it doesn’t mean that it will take first, which makes the odds for whoever finishes second quite interesting. The Warriors hold the second overall pick, and with Stephen Curry, Clay Thompson and Diamond Green, current odds are making James Weisman the luckiest here.

Odds of reaching 2nd place in the 2020 NBA Draft

  • James Wiseman: 5/14
  • Lamilo Ball: 9/4
  • Anthony Edwards: 9-4
  • Onyeka Okongwu: 12-1
  • Denny Avdega: 1–15
  • Obi Tobin: 20-1

As for the third and fourth options – owned by the Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Bulls, respectively – Paul and Israeli star Denny Avdega topped the list there. The ball is -120 to take third, and Avdija is +160 to take fourth.
