Air Canada cuts another 1,700 jobs, reducing capacity

Its first quarter 2021 capacity will be 20 percent higher than it was in 2019

Air Canada says it is cutting its first-quarter capacity by 25 percent, which means it will lose about 1,700 jobs at the airline.

The Montreal-based carrier says the cuts will affect more than 200 employees on its express carriers.

Air Canada says its capacity in the first quarter of 2021 will be 20 percent of what it operated in the first quarter of 2019.

More is coming.
